Team Oregon was established in 1987 to develop the cycling abilities of its members and the sport of competitive cycling with a focus on the Pacific Northwest.
As we begin our thirty-second year, we continue to celebrate and support the cycling community by welcoming new members of all skill members, teaching proper racing skills, and helping our members achieve their cycling goals.
Team Oregon operates a team-oriented model to ensure that all riders have a place. Experienced riders share their knowledge with less experienced team members, enabling growth and skill development. In addition to racing, members are encouraged to be active in the club and assist in the club’s operations and projects. Team Oregon actively promotes races, training rides, training camps, community cycling events, and coaching.
The team’s mission is to enhance the sport of cycling in Oregon by organizing an accessible team with resources to help all members reach their goals within the sport.
We’d love to meet you! Feel free to contact us with any questions.
Team Leadership
Matt Faunt

Matt is new(er) to the Portland cycling scene after relocating back to town following several years working in the bike industry in Walla Walla, WA. It feels good to be back home and exploring new roads; riding in Portland isn't nearly as wet as people think if you have good fenders! You can expect to see Matt regularly in the local and regional Cyclocross and XC Mountain Bike circuits, though he doesn't hesitate to hop in a road race from time to time to keep his fitness sharp!

Emily McNary

I love riding bikes, and I got turned onto racing through track bikes when I moved to Portland. I am interested in learning and improving my skills on the bike be it track, road, cx, or whatever form of riding a bike you can come up with.
Josh Mitchell

Hi! I'm Josh and I love racing my bike. I look forward to being part of the team.

John Wilger

John has been racing with Team Oregon since 2014. You'll generally find him out racing PIR on Mondays and Tuesdays in the spring and summer months and then at the weekend cyclocross races in the fall.
